Uganda Gorillas & Tanzania Wildlife - 9 Days
This tour will commence in Kigali, Rwanda, a city known for its breathtaking beauty. You will visit the Rwanda Genocide Museum, which tells the tragic history of the Rwandan people, a story that is integral to their lives. The tour will then proceed to Bwindi Forest National Park in Uganda, where you can track the fascinating mountain gorillas. After this rewarding experience, you will fly to Tanzania to explore its most famous wildlife parks, including Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. These parks are home to all the wildlife that East Africa has to offer, including the African “Big Five” and many other fascinating animals. The landscape between Ngorongoro and Serengeti is truly breathtaking and a sight to behold.
Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival Day - Transfer to Kigali
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport (KGL), your safari guide will pick you up transfer you to your hotel in Kigali town, which is about 20 - 30 minutes’ drive. Your guide will brief you on your itinerary before your safari begins. If you have any questions, concerns or need further clarification on something prior to driving to Bwindi, today would be the perfect day.
DAY 2
Kigali Town Tour – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today you will set out for a Kigali city tour. You'll visit the genocide memorial site & museum and have lunch in the city. Later on, you will proceed to Ruhengeri region and make stop at the foothills of the Volcanoes Mountains towards Rwanda-Uganda Cyanika/Katuna land border point for immigration logistics before continue to your lodging at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge
Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge is a tranquil oasis where the only sounds you'll hear are crickets chirping. The lodge features 12 cottages, each with its own unique character. All of the cottages are cozy, spacious, and equipped with ensuite facilities that prioritize your comfort. Additionally, every cottage offers a breathtaking view of Lake Mulehe that will leave you mesmerized.
DAY 3
Trek Gorillas in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Park
Around 7:45am you will report to the rangers' station with your gorilla pass for registration and briefing. Thereafter, you'll trek through the bush to track the gorillas which can take 2 to 6 hours; so, a reasonable degree of fitness and shoes for hiking is required. Once you find them, you'll observe their interesting human-like behavior for an hour before descending back to the briefing point.

DAY 4
Fly To Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO), Tanzania
After breakfast, cross the Uganda-Rwanda Cyanika border point and drive back to Kigali Airport in time for your flight to JRO. Please know the flight is not included in the price below. Upon arrival at JRO, our representative will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. You may have the opportunity to visit our Arusha office for a short safari briefing and then proceed to the lodge for an overnight stay.

DAY 5
Tarangire National Park
Today, we will drive 2.5 hours southwest to Tarangire, home to the highest concentration of elephants in Northern Tanzania. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles and many other wildlife species also inhabit this park. Tarangire offers over 550 bird species, including the world's most giant bird - the Maasai ostrich. Get ready for an adventure!
Lake Manyara Serena Lodge
Spread along the edge of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment with incredible views, Lake Manyara Serena Lodge consists of 66 circular, double-storey, whitewashed “rondavels” (traditional circular buildings with conical thatched roofs), which include their own small veranda. Behind each bed hangs a spectacular hand-woven rug, while furnishings and fittings are chosen to reflect traditional Maasai beadwork.
DAY 6 & 7
Serengeti National Park
Let yourself be inspired by the beauty and wonder of the Serengeti, where acacia trees and granite kopjes adorn the endless waves of grass! Your time is dedicated to see the best of Central Serengeti, that offers everyday opportunities to spot Tanzania's most impressive wildlife including big prides of lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopards, giraffes, a great number of hippos, and abundant birdlife!
Serengeti Signature Camp
Signature Serengeti Camp is located in Makoma Hills in Central Serengeti. The camp features 10 spacious luxury safari tents, each raised on wooden platforms to offer unobstructed views of the surrounding wildlife and landscapes. The tents come equipped with large viewing decks and are wheelchair accessible.
DAY 8
Ngorongoro Crater Tour
The Ngorongoro crater, which is only 10 miles wide, was formed around three million years ago when a volcano collapsed. It is the world's largest volcano caldera and is home to over 25,000 resident animals, making it a unique ecosystem. In the grass steppes and acacia forest, you can spot almost every animal in the East African savanna, including the African "Big Five”.
The Retreat at Ngorongoro
Themed in nature with indigenous trees, lovely gardens, bushes, and birdlife, The Retreat at Ngorongoro consists of 27 spacious guest cottages accommodating singles, couples, and families. DAY 9
Indulge in Your Special Interest
Today you will enjoy a leisure morning, breakfast and hot lunch at your beautiful lodging before driving further to the to the respective airport in due time for your inbound or outbound flight. It is a bittersweet moment for both you and us as we say goodbye, but we hope to see you return soon.
