UDZUNGWA NATIONAL PARK

Udzungwa National Park is a part of the Eastern Arc Mountains known for its fascinating diversity of life. The Eastern Arc Mountains are famous for their high concentration of endemic species of animals and plants, making them a vital biodiversity hotspot on Earth. The park is home to various landforms, including rolling hills, mountains, valleys, and waterfalls, making it an outstanding scenic destination.

With the most excellent altitudinal range of forests in East Africa, the park is inhabited by different wildlife species, including 12 species of primates. Two species, the Iringa Red Colobus and Sanje Mangabey, were discovered in 1979 and are not found anywhere else in the world except in this park. Udzungwa accommodates hundreds of arrays of birds, including the unique Rufous-winged sunbird, making this park one of the most outstanding destinations for birdwatchers.
