Arusha National Park day trip

Arusha National Park day trip
Arusha National Park showcases incredible ecological diversity and scenic beauty within easy reach of the city. It features three standout landmarks: Mt. Meru (14,980 ft / 4,566 m), Tanzania’s second-highest peak; the colorful Momella Lakes, shallow alkaline basins known for seasonal flamingos and water birds; and the 1.9-mile-wide (3-km) Ngurdoto Crater, often dubbed the “Little Ngorongoro Crater,” formed nearly 15 million years ago.
The park is home to cape buffalo, waterbuck, warthogs, giraffes, zebras, and even elephants—making it one of Tanzania’s best-kept wildlife secrets.
The most popular activity is a 2–2.5 hour walking safari, where you’ll find yourself just steps away from the park’s famously relaxed giraffes and other wildlife. This immersive walk brings you past small waterfalls, through lush terrain, and offers a unique way to appreciate birds, insects, and plants you’d miss from inside a vehicle. On clear days, enjoy spectacular views of both Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.
Optional add-on:
Enhance your adventure with a Lake Momella canoe safari (approx. 2–2.5 hours). Paddle through calm waters surrounded by wildlife and birds, with stunning views of the surrounding hills and peaks.
Price: $95 per person (shared basis)
