The Ndere Cultural Centre is a prominent African cultural hub located in Uganda. It covers an expansive area of 9 acres filled with indigenous flora and fauna, showcasing a blend of traditional architecture with modern elements. On Sundays, Fridays, and Wednesdays, the renowned Ndere Troupe takes the stage to bring to life the diverse cultural heritage of Uganda through captivating music, dance, and storytelling.
You will enjoy local dances and musical performances that represent various tribes and cultures of Uganda with talented vocalists, dancers, drummers and other instruments. You will witness them performing the Acholi courtship dance known as “Lara karaka”, the royal dance known as “bwola”, and the Buganda royal dance “amagunjja”, each telling a story of an individual culture. You can also hear traditional poems, stories, and folktales performed by Stephen Ruwangyezi. Afterwards, you can learn local traditional dances and how to prepare local traditional dishes, followed by enjoying delicious foods representing each of the regions and ethnic groups of Uganda.
