Uganda National Museum
Uganda National Museum
The Uganda National Museum was founded in 1944 and is one of the oldest and most important museums in East Africa. Its collection dates back to the pre-colonial era and includes exhibits on Uganda’s natural history, culture, and colonial past. The museum has an extensive variety of exhibits that showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage; you will have a chance to learn about the early history of Uganda, the impact of colonialism and traditional Ugandan clothing, crafts, and artifacts from various ethnic groups across the country. The museum features a collection of taxidermy animals, including many species found only in Uganda, such as the mountain gorilla and the okapi.
