Kibale National Park

Located in western Uganda, Kibale National Park is a renowned stronghold for primates and offers one of the best chimpanzee trekking experiences in Africa. With the highest diversity and density of primates on the continent, the park is a dream destination for wildlife enthusiasts and researchers alike.
Its lush, moist evergreen forest is home to an impressive list of primate species, including the elusive L’Hoest’s monkey, the striking red colobus, and the more commonly spotted black-and-white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, blue monkeys, bush babies, and the vocal grey-cheeked mangabey. Each trek through the forest promises close encounters and rare sightings, making every visit unique.
Kibale’s landscapes go far beyond forest. The northern section of the park opens into rolling grasslands and tranquil swamps, offering a beautiful contrast to the dense central plateau that dominates its core. These varying ecosystems support a wide range of flora and fauna, contributing to the park’s rich biodiversity.
To truly take in all that Kibale has to offer, a minimum stay of two nights is recommended. Whether you’re here to track chimpanzees, explore the vibrant birdlife, or simply enjoy the serenity of Uganda’s forests, Kibale promises an unforgettable, immersive experience in the wild.
