Lake Natron
Lake Natron is a popular tourist destination located in the northern part of Tanzania, bordered by the Ngorongoro highlands to the northeast and NortherN Serengeti to the south. The unique geological formations and stunning landscape of the area attract visitors from all over the world.
There are plenty of activities to do in Lake Natron. One of the most popular activities is a challenging climb through steep and rugged cliff faces to the famous Engare Sero waterfalls. The waterfalls are nestled deep within a Rift Valley canyon and offer a cool respite for climbers. Another popular activity is climbing the Oldonyo Lengai mountain, an active volcano considered one of the most challenging climbs in Africa. The ascent is steep and treacherous, but the panoramic view from the summit is breathtaking.
Lastly, visitors can take a lake tour to witness the striking pink color of the lake, which is caused by the presence of microorganisms that thrive in the highly alkaline water. The tour also provides an opportunity to see the diverse array of wildlife that call the lake home, including flamingos and other water birds.
