Ndutu Game Area

Nestled in southern Serengeti, Ndutu is a renowned wildlife hotspot and a crucial part of the Ngorongoro ecosystem. Favored by nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers, this region is particularly significant for wildebeests, as it serves as a key calving ground during the Great Migration.
The calving season: a spectacle of new life
From December to March, Ndutu transforms into a birthing haven, as over 250,000 wildebeest calves are born within a matter of weeks—marking the start of the “calving season.”
This natural phenomenon draws predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, offering visitors a rare opportunity to witness dramatic predator-prey interactions in the wild.
Big cats & diverse landscapes
Beyond the migration, Ndutu is one of the best places in Africa to observe big cats year-round. The region is home to cheetahs, lion prides, and leopards, along with a variety of other wildlife thriving in its diverse landscapes.
Visitors can explore swamps, acacia woodlands, soda lakes, and the famous Serengeti short-grass plains, each supporting a unique ecosystem. The acacia woodlands provide a prime hunting ground for big cats, offering thrilling game-viewing experiences.
A unique off-road safari experience
What truly sets Ndutu apart is the rare ability to drive off the main roads during game drives. Unlike many other safari destinations, this off-road access allows visitors to get remarkably close to the wildlife, ensuring an unparalleled safari experience and exceptional photography opportunities.
For wildlife lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers, Ndutu delivers an unforgettable safari experience, blending breathtaking landscapes with some of the most intimate and thrilling wildlife encounters in East Africa.
