Nyungwe Forest National Park

Nyungwe National Park, located in the southwest corner of Rwanda, is one of Africa’s oldest rainforests, celebrated for its incredible biodiversity and breathtaking landscapes.
From within the park, visitors can take in stunning views of the Virunga Mountains and the Congo, making it a truly immersive natural escape.
Nyungwe’s dense, emerald-green canopy is often draped in cool morning and evening mists, adding to its mystical charm.
This pristine rainforest is home to chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and an astonishing variety of bird species.
One of its standout attractions is the canopy walkway, a suspension bridge high above the forest floor that offers breathtaking views of the lush valley below. Despite its relatively compact size, Nyungwe harbors an impressive array of wildlife, including 75 species of mammals, countless butterflies, and an abundance of birds, making it a paradise for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts alike.
To fully experience Nyungwe’s wonders, a minimum stay of two nights is highly recommended. This allows ample time to track chimpanzees, explore the park’s waterfalls, and walk along the iconic canopy bridge—ensuring an unforgettable rainforest adventure.
