Nyungwe Forest National Park
Located in the southwest corner of Rwanda, Nyungwe National Park is one of the oldest rainforests in Africa, renowned for its rich biodiversity and stunning scenery. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Virungas and the Congo from the park. Nyungwe is lush and green, often shrouded in cooling mists during the early mornings and late evenings.
Nyungwe Forest is home to chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and diverse bird species. It features a canopy walkway suspended high above the ground, offering spectacular views of the valley and the pristine forest. Despite its compact size, Nyungwe is home to a large variety of primates, 75 species of mammals, butterflies, and abundant birdlife.
Two nights must be dedicated to this park to fully enjoy Nyungwe, with a greater chance of spotting chimpanzees, visiting the waterfalls, and maybe doing the canopy walk.

WHEN TO VISIT
The best time to visit Nyungwe is during the long dry season that last from June to September and short dry season from February to Mid March.
