Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the heart of Botswana. It is famous for its diverse ecosystem and abundant wildlife. The expansive 15,000 square kilometers of the arid Kalahari Desert make the Okavango Delta one of the world’s largest and most unique inland deltas. This exceptional Delta is formed by the Okavango River, which originates in the Angolan highlands and winds through the African plains before reaching the Delta. The Delta’s expansive network of channels, islands, and floodplains presents breathtaking landscapes as a magnificent backdrop for any safari adventure. This wetland paradise is home to a diverse range of bird species.
The Okavango Delta stands out for its exceptional private game drives, offering unparalleled proximity to wildlife and an intimate connection with nature. It is known for its rich and diverse animal population, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and more. Visitors can take advantage of the unique opportunity to explore the region via traditional mokoro boats or guided walking safaris, immersing themselves in nature and observing wildlife up close and personal.
The Okavango Delta spans a vast area, necessitating air travel between destinations. Lodges organize game drives as part of package deals. To fully experience the beauty of the Okavango, spending a minimum of 2 nights in one location is recommended. If you plan to travel around, allocate a minimum of 2 nights to each part you wish to visit.
