Kilimanjaro trek via Machame Route – 9 days

$2,842
This is our second-favorite route to Uhuru Peak (after the Lemosho Route) thanks to its strong acclimatization profile as you walk high and sleep low. The trail unfolds through striking scenery, revealing distinct vegetation zones and expansive mountain views. Machame is also widely respected for its high summit success rate.
Known as the “Whiskey Route,” Machame is more challenging and technical than many alternatives. Its steeper, more demanding sections make it especially rewarding for adventurous climbers seeking a dynamic ascent.
This trek package includes seven nights on the mountain, plus one night before the climb and one final night afterward.
Why choosing the Machame Route:
- offers scenic, varied trails with dramatic mountain views;
- provides excellent acclimatization as you walk high and sleep low; the natural ups and downs help your body adjust more effectively;
- delivers one of the highest summit success rates on Kilimanjaro: more than 85% of climbers reach Uhuru Peak.
