Zohar African Safaris (ZAS) is deeply committed to promoting social responsibility through our heartfelt partnership with New Stars Foundation. This collaboration is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged children, children with disabilities, and empowering women, all with the goal of fostering a brighter future for those in need.

To further our commitment, we have introduced the ZAS community fund, which includes a modest fee of $10 per guest. This contribution will be used to support the education of children supported by New Star’s Foundation. By choosing to travel with ZAS, you are making a profound and lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children, helping to pave the way for their brighter tomorrow. 

New Stars Foundation is a dedicated non-governmental organization based Usa- River, Arusha, Tanzania, committed to empowering and supporting unprivileged children and women in education, health and nutrition and general basic needs. The foundation embodies a strong sense of social responsibility and strive to positively impact the lives of most vulnerable children and women, helping them reach their potential and fostering a vision for a brighter future. Currently, the foundation supports 30 children by ensuring they receive quality education, essential supplies, and crucial resources that contribute to their overall development and well-being.

UPENDO

Upendo is young Maasai girl with special needs (disability), born in Arusha Region. In Maasai culture, the birth of a child with such needs is frequently perceived as a curse by the community. Despite her mother tried her best to take care for her but due her economic hardship she faced have made this nearly impossible. Since 2016, Upendo found hope at New Star's Foundation, she is accessing her needs and also attend to school like any other child. However, the New Star’s Foundation face a significant challenge regarding her diapers, which are quite expensive.

Sponsor Upendo:

Upendo needs 3 pieces of diapers per day and costs (TZS) 18,000 or (USD) $10 for one packet with 10 pieces which lasts for 3 days (Upendo needs (USD) $885 per year for her diapers). Also, she needs $400 annually to cover her school fee and stationery. Your Support can make a real difference in ensuring that Upendo has the basic necessities she needs for a happy and healthy life.

ZULEYA AMIR NGUMILO

Zuleya is 19 years old born in Tanga Region. She has a leg deformity caused by burnt with fire during her childhood. While being carried on her mother’s back, Zuleya’s leg fell into fire when her mother fainted due to her battle with leprosy. Zuleya screamed, and fortunately a neighbor heard her cries and rescue Zeluya and her late mom. Sadly, after few years her mother passed away and leaving Zuleya in an orphanage Centre. Zuleya dreams of becoming self-employed in tailoring and best fashions design. The New Star Foundation has been supporting her early tailoring studies and obtain a prosthetic leg. She aspires to own her own fashion shop, equipped with all necessary machines, materials and tools for tailoring, Zuleya aims to establish herself as a successful fashion designer in Tanzania.

Sponsor Zuleya:

Zuleya needs needle sewing machine that costs (TZS) 600,000 or (USD) $ 245, overlock industrial sewing machine that costs (TZS) 600,000 or (USD) $ 245 or (2.5 million or (USD) $1,021) which depends on quality of the machine and button hole machine that cost (TZS) 400,000 or (USD) $ 164. To make Zuleya Lives in her dream support her to purchases these tailoring machines.

The New Stars Foundation is committed to becoming a self-sustaining organization that no longer relies on donors or sponsors. To achieve sustainability, they have identified two crucial areas that require funding:

1.NEW STAR FOUNDATION CHILDREN CENTER

The New Stars Foundation is reaching out for invaluable support to launch an important program aimed to establishing a safe and nurturing home for most vulnerable children. This significant initiative has the potential to create lasting change in their lives. The organization’s goal is to create a Centre with well-equipped facilities, including comfortable dormitories, classrooms, and a special housing for children with special needs. 

In addition, the organization also aim to develop sustainable projects, such as a dairy initiative, poultry production, a biogas system, and organic gardening, which will further empower these children and help the foundation flourish. Your support will be invaluable in helping the New Star’s Foundation provide a safe and nurturing environment for these deserving children and promoting long-term self-sufficiency.

  • Administrative Expenses: These includes vital costs such as staff salaries, office supplies, utilities, and other necessary overhead that keeps foundation running efficiently.
  • Operational Costs: These day-to-day expenses cover essential needs like nutritious food and beverages, rent for our facilities, and other utilities such as electricity and water.
