Our family safari, also known as our signature safari, has been carefully designed to balance wildlife encounters, cultural immersion, and recreational activities so that every member of the family remains active and engaged throughout the journey.

You will experience the extraordinary wildlife of Tarangire, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater, observing Africa’s iconic species in their natural habitats. Day 1

Swimming Kikuletwa Hot Spring

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your safari guide will greet you and take you on a day trip to the Kikuletwa Hot Spring, also known as Maji Moto. Nestled between Arusha and Moshi, this hidden oasis is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long flight. Once there, you can stroll around the lush surroundings, take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear warm waters, or mingle with local residents who also come to enjoy this natural retreat.

Day 2

Materuni waterfalls hike + Coffee tour & local lunch

You will travel to the Kilimanjaro region for a full day of activities. Upon arrival at the village, your adventure begins with a hike to the waterfalls, a scenic journey that takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour one way. After the hike, you will be treated to a hot local lunch before setting off on a coffee plantation tour, where you’ll learn about Tanzania’s renowned Arabica coffee. Experience every step of the process, from pounding and roasting beans over an outdoor fire to brewing your own cup of freshly made coffee.

Day 3

Biking or walking safari + Lake Manyara game drive

Today, you will set off to Lake Manyara nestled on the edge of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment for a biking or walking safari followed by a game drive. Lake Manyara is known for its year-round greenery, attracting migratory birds and featuring a variety of wildlife such as baboons, velvet & blue monkeys, hippos, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, elephants, warthogs and many more!

 

Today, you will head to Lake Manyara, nestled along the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, for an active biking or walking safari followed by a thrilling game drive. Lake Manyara is famous for its lush, year-round greenery that draws countless migratory birds and supports a wide range of wildlife. Here, you may encounter baboons, vervet and blue monkeys, hippos, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, and much more in their natural habitat.

Day 6

Final game drive in Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater Rim walking safari

Today, you will embark on a final game drive in the Serengeti with a packed lunch, giving you more opportunities to capture heart-stopping photos. Later, you will continue to Ngorongoro for a one-hour walking safari along the rim of the crater. This short adventure is the perfect way to step out of the vehicle and experience the African bush on foot without committing to a strenuous trek.

Day 7

Meet the Hadzabe bushmen & Datoga tribe

You will depart the lodge early in the morning to meet the Hadzabe Bushmen, the last hunter-gatherer society in Africa. Join them in their daily activities such as hunting, gathering wild fruits, and making a campfire. Later, you will meet the Datoga tribe, traditional pastoralists who also cultivate maize, beans, and millet. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to see a Datoga blacksmith at work, skillfully forging knives and jewelry for the Bushmen using traditional methods.

Ngorongoro Crater tour

The Ngorongoro Crater, spanning just 10 miles (16 km) across, was formed approximately three million years ago when a massive volcano collapsed in on itself. Today, it stands as the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and supports a thriving ecosystem with more than 25,000 resident animals. Within its grass-covered plains and acacia woodlands, you’ll find nearly every species native to the East African savannah — including all members of the famed Big Five.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is home to the highest concentration of elephants in Northern Tanzania. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and many other wildlife species also inhabit this park. Tarangire offers over 550 bird species, including the world’s largest bird – the Maasai ostrich. Get ready for an adventure!

After a rewarding day in Tarangire, we drop you off at the respective airport for your outbound flight.
