Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park, located in northwestern Uganda, covers an area of 3,840 square kilometres, making it the largest national park in the country. The park is famous for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River flows through a narrow cleft over a substantial descent.

The park is home to diverse wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, oribis, lions, Uganda kobs, leopards, and buffaloes. In addition to these land animals, the park is also in various varieties of aquatic wildlife, including Nile crocodiles, hippos, and numerous species of marine birds.

One of the park’s most popular and thrilling activities is the launch trip to the bottom of the Murchison Falls. This excursion allows visitors to get close to the breathtaking waterfall, the park’s centrepiece. Along the way, visitors can marvel at the park’s diverse vegetation, including Riverine forest, woodland, and savanna.
