Kibale National Park

Kibale National Park in the western part of Uganda is well-known for its outstanding chimpanzee trekking experience. The park is home to Africa’s highest diversity and density of primates, making it a top destination for primate enthusiasts. The lush evergreen forest is inhabited by various primates, including the elusive I’Hoest’s monkey and the vibrant red colobus monkey, adding to the park’s unique charm. Other primate species in the park include the black & white colobus, blue monkey, red-tailed monkey, olive baboon, bush baby, grey-cheeked mangabey, and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey.

Apart from its moist evergreen forest, Kibale National Park features a diverse range of landscapes. The northern part of the park is characterized by expansive grasslands and picturesque swamps, creating a striking contrast with the central plateau that dominates the park’s landscape.

To have a whole Kibale experience, you need at least two nights in the park.
